![]() We know there was a joyous reunion on the other side of the veil with her mother who was assuredly waiting to immediately take Davina in her arms again, and for that we are grateful. She had many plans for the future, but they were not to be – at least not here in mortality. We were blessed to be able to spend one last week with her, including a nice Christmas Eve and Day. She grew closer to the rest of her family and her Heavenly Father through these trials and truly passed through the refiner’s fire. She fought valiantly through all these trials and ultimately overcame them and returned home on December 17th, still with a long recovery ahead of her but on the mend. She ended up going to the Emergency room for low oxygen in June and that started a more than six-month merry-go-round of various hospitals, ICUs, critical care centers, and rehabilitation places as she dealt with many setbacks and further medical issues. She was excited to be working again, but 2020 interrupted that and brought many physical challenges for her. Moving into a basement apartment in her brother Paul’s house in 2019 brought some sense of independence, including starting a new job for a medical referral company. When her mom died in 2018 it was very hard for Davina, and she struggled to find her new normal. As her siblings left home for college and missions Davina was able to spend more one-on-one time with her mom, and they formed a strong bond. She later worked at various customer service positions, including at eBay, Grubhub, Cigna Healthcare, and the Post Office. Davina graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1998 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Utah Valley University in 2005. ![]() Starting in her teenage years she loved being an Aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She was a happy child and spread that happiness to others. As the youngest of seven siblings, she was doted on (and sometimes teased) by her older brothers and sisters. Davina "Nini" Marie Johnson Davina Marie Johnson was born on November 24th, 1980, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to David and Mary Jane (Martin) Johnson and passed away peacefully at her home in American Fork, Utah, on December 26th, 2020.
